Every town has a place to put those who pass with no family, no relations. They are often buried with little ceremony, no mourners and without fanfare.  They are often called potter's fields.

Mifflin county has such a location. This Potter’s field has been in use from approximately 1853 till 2011 there are only a few headstones or markers of any kind. We are not sure if those who passed during the canal construction are interred elsewhere. There is a large sign with names (if known) and dates remembering the interred from a Boy Scout Eagle project. So many of the listings are either Tramp, child, a first name without a last or a nationality.  There are most likely others who are here that were lost in the record keeping process.

It is a beautiful location - sad that there are so many who were here forgotten for so many years. Although there are some who maintain and care for the location, most people in the area do not even know of this location's existence. People have experienced off phenomenon here and have captured orbs on their cameras.
